A statement from Christian Alliance of America on the closing of the Holy Sites.
Israel plays host to the world's three major religions, but it is Christians who once again are locked out of their holy sites. This is an outrage, and we must speak out against it. Tyrants always use the reason of "your safety." Christians face persecution every day around the globe, and in the Middle East, and face death. Exercising our faith in worship is what keeps us close to our Savior. Christian leaders all around the world are speaking out against this action by the Israeli government. They need to open up the holy sites now for Holy Week. Call your congressmen and urge them to pressure Israel to open up the holy sites so Christians may celebrate Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. Like my pastor friend said, "I'm a big supporter of the State of Israel and the Jewish people. I don't always agree with the Knesset." I love my country. I don't always agree with my government. Not everyone in Israel has the best intentions for Christians.
