So close was the bullet that it pierced the President's ear. Had he not turned his head at the last moment, the outcome would have been much different. Secret Service converged on the President, protecting him from any additional rounds that were being shot. Tragically, three spectators at the rally were struck by some of the bullets. Two are in critical condition. Corey Comperatore, who protected his wife and two daughters from the bullets, died from his wounds. FOX News, along with other national media covered the tragic event. Thankfully, President Trump survived the shooting and is in good spirits. He expressed his appreciation to the security detail and his condolences to those who were tragically affected by the shooting. The FBI announced that they will lead the investigation. Members of Congress are calling for hearings and for members of the Secret Service agency to appear before Congress to explain the security breach. Congressman Jim Jordan who chairs the Judiciary Committee has called for hearings on the security breach and what some are calling a catastrophic failure of the Secret Service to protect the former President and current presidential candidate. Many have asked that an independent investigation be launched since the current FBI and Justice Department have been politically weaponized against President Trump. In immediate response after the shooting, the Biden Campaign pulled down all its political ads.  Some in the liberal media acknowledged that their rhetoric against President Trump and his supporters led to this level of violence. Many are calling for the political left to stop its hateful, outrageous rhetoric against President Trump and his supporters. For the past several years since the 2020 Election, conservatives and supporters of President Trump have been maligned, ridiculed, and told publicly that they are the problem.
